Huawei Unveils Pura X View: A Wide, Non-Folding Smartphone

Following Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 launch and anticipation for Apple's foldable iPhone Ultra, Huawei has introduced a unique device: the Pura X View, a wide, non-folding smartphone.

A Return to a Wider Aspect Ratio

The Pura X View boasts a 16:9.5 aspect ratio, a departure from the typical taller 21:9 displays seen in recent years. Some are calling it the first non-folding smartphone with a wide display, reminiscent of devices like the Galaxy S7 Edge, Nexus 6P, and original Google Pixel, although those earlier models had larger bezels.

Unlike its predecessors, the Pura X View features an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 96.1%, thanks to a remarkably thin 1.05 mm bezel. The display resolution is 2,232 x 1,320, and it can reach a peak brightness of 6,500 nits, though the exact screen size remains undisclosed.

Slim Design and Large Battery

Despite its large 7,000 mAh battery – significantly larger than the 5,000 mAh batteries found in the Galaxy S26 Ultra and iPhone 17 Pro Max – the Pura X View maintains a slim profile at just 6.68 mm thick and weighs 201 grams.

Camera and Performance Details

While camera specifications are yet to be revealed, the device features a horizontal triple-camera setup on the rear, drawing comparisons to the Pixel 11 series. It will be powered by an unspecified chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB.
