Huawei unveils wide foldable pura x max, a potential iphone challenger
Huawei has officially entered the wide foldable smartphone market with the Pura X Max, a device that could pose a significant threat to Apple's upcoming foldable iPhone.
Design and specifications
The Pura X Max features a book-style foldable design with an internal display that appears to have a wide aspect ratio of around 16:11, setting it apart from other foldables on the market.
Pre-orders for the device have already begun in China, with four storage configurations ranging from 12GB/256GB to 16GB/1TB and five color options: Phantom Night Black, Zero Degree White, Interstellar Blue, Olive Gold, and Vibrant Orange.

A challenge to apple
By launching the Pura X Max, Huawei is clearly targeting Apple's upcoming foldable iPhone, which is also expected to have a wider form factor than current models. With the Pura X Max already available in China, Huawei may be able to establish a foothold in the market before Apple's entry.
However, it remains to be seen whether the wide foldable design will resonate with consumers. While some may appreciate the unique form factor, others may find it awkward or unappealing.
One thing is certain – Huawei's move into the wide foldable space increases the competition for Apple and raises the stakes for the tech giant's upcoming foldable launch.
