T-mobile overtakes verizon in carrier perception, according to new survey
T-Mobile has taken the top spot in carrier perception, surpassing Verizon in a recent survey conducted by investment-banking firm TD Cowen.

Consistent with network investments
For years, T-Mobile has focused heavily on building out its 5G network and maintaining a competitive pricing edge over AT&T and Verizon. This strategy is now paying off as consumers increasingly recognize the company's benefits.
According to TD Cowen's data, which was shared by Ookla's Lead Industry Analyst Mike Dano, T-Mobile now leads the industry in brand and image perception. The survey has been tracking carrier perception for 13 years, with respondents ranking providers on a scale from 1 (best) to 3 (worst).
T-Mobile's average ranking of 1.96 puts it ahead of Verizon's 2.01 and AT&T's 2.03. This shift is consistent with TD Cowen's predictions and echoes other reports of shifting consumer sentiment.
T-Mobile's improved perception is largely due to its better pricing and network quality. However, as AT&T and Verizon narrow the gap with their own network improvements and promotional offerings, T-Mobile risks losing ground if it doesn't continue to innovate and maintain its edge.
With aggressive growth at the cost of revenue no longer a priority, T-Mobile is entering a transitional phase. The company has cut back on promotions that customers cherished and will no longer report subscriber gains in Q1, sparking speculation about elevated churn moving forward. However, TD Cowen's analysis suggests these concerns may be overblown, as T-Mobile's premium image could justify higher prices and fewer promotions.
