But the most overlooked safeguard, according to Izquierdo, might just be Samsung's “Secure WiFi” feature.
“I genuinely don’t understand why more people don’t have Secure WiFi enabled,” Izquierdo remarked in a recent interview. This feature automatically encrypts your connection when using public WiFi networks, effectively rendering your data unreadable to eavesdroppers. It’s a surprisingly simple step that can drastically reduce your exposure.

Beyond the network: fortifying your device
But securing the network is just the first layer of defense. Melchor Sanz advocates for activating Secure Boot, a less-utilized feature that prevents unauthorized modifications to the hard drive. He also strongly recommends enabling full disk encryption and, crucially, installing a reputable antivirus program. “Skipping antivirus software today is essentially inviting disaster,” Sanz stated bluntly, adding that even the free Microsoft Defender offers robust protection.
