**Apple Wallet Now Supports Digital IDs in Virginia**

Virginia has become the 15th US state to enable Apple Wallet's Driver License feature, allowing residents to store their driver's licenses and IDs directly on their iPhones and Apple Watches. This digital ID can be used for various purposes, including when interacting with law enforcement, at select airports, businesses, and within certain apps.

While this digital copy serves as a convenience, Apple and the DMV emphasize that it is not a substitute for the physical ID and must always be carried. This feature aims to streamline the process of presenting identification in certain situations.

Virginia joins a growing list of states supporting Apple Wallet IDs, including California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, and Puerto Rico, as well as Japan's My Number Card. The feature is accepted at over 250 US airports for domestic travel.
