Ecovacs, best known for robotic vacuum cleaners, built Bajie on OpenClaw, the open-source large-language-model framework that lets machines turn plain-language instructions into physical action. Founder Qian Dongqi calls the prototype a “butler” and vows mass production within two years. Early demos required repeated prompts and occasional reboots, according to 36Kr reporter Li Nan, who noted “the robot hesitated when a sneaker was half under the couch.” Still, the crowd applauded when Bajie finished the toy pile in eight minutes—faster than the average eight-year-old.
