The mechanic is straightforward but quietly clever. Inside the Gemini app's settings tab, a new import window generates a ready-made prompt. You copy it, paste it into ChatGPT or Claude or whatever you've been using, and that model spits out a compressed summary of your entire interaction history. Paste that back into Gemini. Done. The ai picks up roughly where you left off with a different system.
For users who want to go deeper, there's a second option: compress full conversation threads into a ZIP file and upload the whole archive. No summary, no compression loss — just the raw record handed over wholesale.
