Openai unveils premium chatgpt subscription for heavy users

OpenAI, the company behind the popular AI chatbot ChatGPT, has introduced a new premium subscription plan priced at €103 (around $100 USD) per month. The Pro plan is designed for users who rely heavily on AI for complex and critical tasks, according to the pricing page.

Pro features include gpt-5.4 pro, increased codex tasks, gpt-5.3 model, unlimited file uploads and more.

This new tier coexists with the existing $200 plan, offering varying levels of functionality for heavy and light users. The Pro plan offers five times the limits of the Plus tier and ten times more Codex usage, while the $200 plan has 20 times the limits of Plus.

OpenAI aims to compete directly with Anthropic, which offers a $100 Max 5x subscription for its Claude chatbot. In a statement to TechCrunch, a spokesperson said Codex offers higher coding capabilities per dollar compared to Claude Code, with the difference more pronounced during active coding use.
