Pixel phones gain bluetooth diagnostic tool in latest update

Pixel phone users can now troubleshoot Bluetooth connectivity issues with a new diagnostic tool introduced in the latest update to the Pixel Troubleshooting app.

Bluetooth diagnostics feature arrives on pixel devices

The update, which bumps the app to version 1.0.885948717, adds the Bluetooth diagnostics feature. Users can access it by going to Settings> Connected devices> Bluetooth> Bluetooth diagnostics or alternatively by navigating to Settings> Device health and support> Bluetooth diagnostics.

According to reports, the feature is currently available on the Pixel 6 Pro running Android 17 Beta 3, but it should roll out to all Pixel models in the coming days.

The Bluetooth diagnostics tool is designed to help users identify and resolve connectivity problems between their Pixel phone and paired devices or accessories, such as smartwatches, earbuds, or car infotainment systems.

Upon running the test, the tool provides a diagnosis and suggested solutions for improved Bluetooth connectivity. Some possible fixes mentioned include moving the Bluetooth accessory closer to the phone, restarting the accessory, forgetting the device's Bluetooth connection and pairing again, or clearing the accessory's connection memory.

Other Android devices, such as the Samsung Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S25 series, also offer similar Bluetooth diagnostic features, allowing users to check the internal Bluetooth hardware and monitor connection quality scores for paired devices.
