This cycle is finally set to be broken, according to the latest leak originating from tipster Debayan Roy. While Roy’s track record requires careful consideration, the intel surrounding the S27 Ultra’s potential battery upgrade is compelling.

The leaked specifications – available on X (formerly Twitter) – point towards a ‘Bigger battery (<6000 mAh)’ which, translating to mathematics, strongly suggests a capacity nearing the 6,000 mark. Samsung is likely to conservatively market the figure at 6,000 mAh, a crucial distinction considering that typical battery capacity often surpasses the rated value for marketing impact.

Beyond sheer size, the S27 Ultra appears to be embracing a more sophisticated thermal management strategy. Rumors now include Qi2 wireless charging, leveraging magnetic attachment and MagSafe-like accessories, and even exploring liquid cooling – a Technology currently employed by RedMagic devices – to combat the demands of its potent hardware. Notably, Apple is already pursuing active cooling solutions for its smaller devices, potentially setting a precedent.

Under the hood, the S27 Ultra will pack the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (2nm) chipset alongside LPDDR6 RAM, offering a substantial bandwidth increase – up to 125% compared to LPDDR5X. Furthermore, a 200MP HP6 main camera, accompanied by a 50MP ultrawide and 50MP 5x periscope telephoto, promises an enhanced photographic experience. Samsung is also shifting away from the 3x telephoto lens, streamlining the camera system for a more focused approach.
