Sony Xperia 10 VIII Leaks Reveal Translucent Back and Familiar Design

Earlier this week, Sony announced a launch event for a mysterious Xperia device, widely expected to be the mid-range Xperia 10 VIII. While the company hasn't confirmed this, the phone has already appeared on Geekbench, and a new image has now leaked.

Xperia 10 VIII Shows Up in a Leaked Image

A new photo, shared by Android Headlines, depicts what appears to be the Xperia 10 VIII in a woman’s hand. The design appears largely unchanged from last year’s model. It features a double camera setup on the back, housed within a horizontal camera bar. Sony’s logo is positioned within the camera bump, and an NFC logo is visible below. The image suggests the Xperia 10 VIII may have a different finish.

Volume rockers are present on the right side of the device, although the potential camera button isn't visible. Following last year’s design, it's likely to be located just below the power button.

What looks different from last year’s model is the material of the back of the phone, which appears to be translucent. This, combined with the glass elements showcased in Sony’s teaser for the August 25th event, suggests the phone may feature a frosted glass back.

A Geekbench benchmark indicates the phone may run Android 16 and utilize the same Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset and 8GB of RAM as its predecessor. Furthermore, another leak confirms the retention of the 3.5 mm headphone jack, a feature Sony has previously credited for the success of the flagship Xperia 1 VIII.

Despite these potential changes, the device may follow a similar pattern to the Xperia 10 V, which maintained the same internal specifications as its predecessor, with the primary difference being the exterior design.
