The directorate general of traffic (DGT) in La Rioja has identified 20 individuals aged 24 to 59 who have been caught using the sophisticated cheating method since January.

These students reportedly spent between €1,300 and €2,500 on the smart glasses and external help, only to face a hefty fine of €500 for unauthorized device use during the theory exam. Moreover, their immediate test results are marked as 'not suitable', and they cannot reapply for the driving license within the next six months.

The Guardia Civil also confirmed the practice, labeling it a 'milestone in detecting technological fraud.' The increasing professionalism of cheating networks supplying these devices is evident, the authorities noted.
