This feature makes RQINS a highly useful Technology, as it does not rely on external signals like traditional GPS, which can be unreliable in tunnels and areas with weak satellite coverage.

According to Network Rail, the system's key advantage is that it enables precise real-time tracking of the train's position, a significant improvement over current limitations.

Minster for Transport Lord Peter Hendy hailed the development as further proof of the UK's commitment to rail innovation, part of a broader plan to modernize the network, increase efficiency, and reduce failures.
